People often ask how I chose the name “Karma” for my company. Having been in the beauty and wellness industry for over 20 years, I’ve seen countless people give so much of themselves to others without taking time for self-care. Many come to Karma completely drained, mentally and physically, seeking a place to recharge.
Our role at Karma, as I see it, goes beyond styling hair or polishing nails. It’s about providing a space for people to pause, unwind, and reconnect with themselves—whether that means relaxing, rejuvenating, meditating, or simply having someone to listen to them. Sometimes, it’s even a place to release emotions in a supportive environment.
When I opened Karma, I envisioned a sanctuary free from judgment, where clients could truly feel at ease in whatever way they needed. I’m grateful to have built a team that feels like family—an incredible group with an undeniable synergy and a shared goal of creating a warm, welcoming experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Our relationships with our clients are at the heart of what we do, and my hope is that each of you feels like part of our Karma family.

Now serving as Marketing Director, she’s passionate about delivering unmatched client experiences and driving Karma’s continued success.

Until now, most of her time was spent in central-Indiana where she grew her business becoming a local authority at her craft. Her chair was always full thanks to a loyal following. Julie’s bubbly personality draws people, we are sure you will feel the same.
A mother of four boys and a grandmother of 3, Julie’s focus is family. Julie and her husband relocated to the area in 2019 from Chattanooga Tennessee and they love being a part of the community.

China’s hair journey began when she was little girl struggling to find the right stylist to help repair and educate her on how to care for her hair. When she did find that special stylist, she knew she wanted to help others do the same. After graduating and gaining experience working in a salon as an assistant for two years, China received her cosmetology license in 2016 and has been with Karma since 2019. She specializes in curly hair, balayage, and straightening treatments. She loves helping clients relax and unwind.

Her husband's military career brought their family to North Carolina, where she has continued to pursue her passion for hair and beauty. Currently, She is dedicated to spreading positive energy and finding opportunities to help others in any way possible. For her, the most rewarding aspect of this profession is recognizing the beauty in all her clients and earning their trust to help them reveal it to the world.

"Born and raised in New York City, I moved to Pinehurst in 2018 to be closer to family. Having a background in painting and the arts, being a cosmetologist has always been something I've wanted to do. After receiving a Bachelor's of Art from Queens College, I returned to school in 2020 to follow my passion of becoming a professional stylist in North Carolina. Having worked with various non for profit mental health organizations, helping people in all aspects of life is something very personal and special to me, and doing hair is no exception. I did my apprenticeship at Karma under the guidance of a very talented and professional salon team. I love changing up my look as a form of self expression and confidence, so I strive to give my clients that same experience. Whether it's a haircut, refreshing highlight, or a fun fashion color, I enjoy giving clients a change that'll make them fall back in love with themselves. I also love to perform mani/pedis."

I grew up in New York and was captivated by an amazing hairstylist; my mother. You could say that hairstyling is in my blood. I moved to Southern Pines in 2006 and decided to attend the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill in 2008. I was very fortunate to train with some of the most talented stylists via Vidal Sassoon over the last 10 years. I have attended numerous hair cutting courses through the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Seattle Washington, London England, and New York City. I was also extremely lucky to attend the “level 10 blonde” course with Sara Pestella. It should be every hairstylist's ambition to attend her course. I am happily married to my best friend since 2014 and I am the proud mother of our son Luca. I am extremely excited to be a part of the Karma team!!!

She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with years of experience as a Wound Care Specialist, Aesthetics NP, Orthopedic Surgery/Sports Medicine NP and Primary Care (Geriatrics) provider. She has over 25 years of experience as a nurse in various specialties as well. Over the past several years, she has trained extensively in care of the skin, healing chronic wounds using collagen stimulation techniques, performing advanced aesthetic treatments and caring for overall skin health. She has a passion for skincare and skin health. She feels natural results are the best results. Jamie is skilled in facial balancing assessment, pairing the right treatment with your aesthetic concern and helping you obtain your aesthetic goals.
